Sevatopol
A unique handwritten atlas of all the fortresses of the Russian Empire. Without a grid of geographic coordinates. The cardinal directions are marked with an arrow. The maps are colored with watercolor, mounted on batiste fabric, and placed in individual folders. The provenance of the copy, attributing it to Emperor Nicholas I, is established through a combination of identifying features.
